Welcome to the inaugural SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards, a credible opportunity to support and share in our vision to raise the profile of industrious, hardworking and enterprising SME’s in the county of Cambridgeshire.
Business awards are a sought after accolade of achievement, a veritable endorsement of success in business which offers exceptional marketing and PR opportunities as well as increasing your credibility and standing in the eyes of your peers and your customers. Of course, it feels pretty wonderful too!
What is an SME Award?
SME stands for – Small Medium Enterprise. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are businesses whose personnel numbers fall below certain limits, with the abbreviation “SME” being used in the European Union. SMEs are also said to be responsible for driving innovation and competition in many economic sectors.
The SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards are open to all sole traders and businesses in the region with less than 250 employees, who commenced business before January 2015, or for new businesses who started after January 2015.

We’re on the hunt!
The Cambridgeshire Independent in conjunction with the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards are seeking out the Business Person of the Year from across Cambridgeshire.
The winner will certainly be recognised in their local community, perhaps you look after your staff better than most, perhaps you run multiple businesses or maybe your singular success just cannot be matched.
Traditionally as a nation we are slow to exclaim our virtues, but the time has come to change that, head over to our awards website and show our judges just how good you are.
Speaking on behalf of the SME Business Awards Director Damian Cummins said “this is always one of those heartening awards, people can put so much into being a success but how many actually give something back? This is a celebration of selfless success and we look forward to see our first set of finalists.”
The overall winner of the SME Cambridgeshire Business awards will not only benefit from the tremendous kudos of winning, in addition the Cambridgeshire Independent is providing a £5,000 advertising to help grow your business.
Entry closes on the 3rd February.
